Several strings from our previous work came together and made us have the idea for Playdays in the Woods. So we threw together our love for being in nature and woodlands and getting lost in exploring this kingdom. Also our love for making and being inspired by nature´s shapes, for greenwood crafts and creativity. We both love sharing this and working with people who also like playing and marveling, experimenting and tasting the world with all senses. These qualities can often be found in children, but it is just as wonderful to share it with open-minded adults. And what better day than to share nature, fun and food with all of you! We all discover different things, so play-learning in a group brings these indiviual stones together in one big colourful circle. |

 Playdays in the Woods´ is a great new parent-and-child holiday adventure activity.This inspiring invitation stimulates families to use and enjoy woods in a fun-creating and nature sensitive approach.
The day is filled with a woodland "expotition" walk with adventure and awareness games, outdoor lunch and small greenwood craft activities. A tarped area is put up in the morning, providing a base camp with a small contained campfire. As a low impact project not unlike the forest school approach, we take only a small group of children and adults out into the woods for 5-6h, leaving little trace behind. The day creates positive feelings towards each other and the woods. It shows various ways of using them through hands on discovery, play and positive emotional bonding rather than dwelling on cognitive theoretical facts. All activities can be reproduced and adapted at home by the families.The day gives everybody ideas of how to make walks and woods special, playful spaces delightful to the children as much as to parents. |
